Khmer National Curriculum (K-12)

Primary Education (K-Grade 6)

In Kindergarten to Grades 6, students follow a broad-based curriculum that focuses on building foundational knowledge and skills in Khmer language, mathematics, science, social studies, and moral education. Instruction emphasizes basic literacy and numeracy skills, critical thinking, creativity, and character development. Students also participate in co-curricular activities, sports, and arts to support their holistic development.

Lower Secondary Education (Grade 7-9)

In Grades 7 to 9, students continue their studies with a more specialized curriculum that prepares them for upper secondary education. They deepen their understanding of core subjects such as Khmer language, mathematics, science, social studies, and moral education, while also exploring additional subjects such as English language, technology, and vocational education. Instruction focuses on building critical thinking skills, research abilities, and effective communication.

Upper Secondary Education (Grade 10-12)

In Grades 10 to 12, students engage in a more advanced and specialized curriculum tailored to their interests and career aspirations. They have the opportunity to pursue academic or vocational pathways based on their strengths and goals. Core subjects include Khmer language, mathematics, science, social studies, and moral education, supplemented by elective subjects, technical skills training, and career readiness programs. Instruction emphasizes higher-order thinking skills, independent research, and preparation for post-secondary education or employment.
