PUBLIC SPEAKING AND DEBATE CLUB
Arizon School is delighted to offer competitions for all students. These competitions are designed for the purpose of allowing our students to gain valuable experiences through the process of competitions. Education and competition are intimately related. Competition inspires students to learn how to do their best not just good enough. When students compete, they will become more inquisitive, research independently and learn to work with others. Furthermore, children who engage in competition will earn critical social skills through interacting with other children, while also learning the value of hard work and developing self- esteem and self- efficacy. Therefore, we, Arizon School want our students to develop their skills and have a strong foundation for their abilities through competitions.
We offer 5 competitions per year for pre-school and teenage and adult learner program. For pre-school program, there are 2 competitions include arts & drawings competition and flashcards competition; while, for teenage & adult program, there are 3 competitions include spelling bee competition, public speaking competition, and essay writing competition.
This project is adhered by the following objectives:
- To provide an opportunity for students to meet and encourage them to involved in extracurricular activities
- To challenge students to work harder
- To enhance students development of communication under pressure
- To expand students’ vocabularies, concepts, and their creativities
- To develop students’ self-confidence and sportsmanship
- To compete students from other schools
- be able to win & lose gracefully
- To promote our school holistic education.
Public Speaking Competition
The ability to speak confidently and convincingly in public is an asset to anyone who wants to take an active role in the classroom, workplace, and community. Mastering the skills of public speaking will accelerate your professional and personal goals. Therefore, Arizon School introduces the Public Speaking Competition to all students to enrich their professional life to a successful.
The Public Speaking Competition is a competition which contestants are asked to perform a speech to a live speech. This competition challenges students to engage with wide- ranging cross curricular topics. This competition will comprise four rounds: first round, second round, semi- final round and final round.
